About Us


Our primary objective is to empower parents and carers to support the progress of children with communication difficulties.

We provide assessments and therapy for all individuals experiencing communication difficulties based at our busy clinic in Clarkston, Glasgow. The clinic is open 7 days a week, including evenings.

Our team of therapists are experienced and supportive; regular in-house CPD sessions and supervision are provided.

About You


You will have proven skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of paediatric cases.

You will be as passionate about your job as we are and you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will be seeking to join our team on a part-time, self-employed basis.

You will maintain registrations with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)

About The Job

Job Purpose and Scope:

To provide clinically effective, person centred and evidence based speech and language therapy assessment and intervention to children with communication difficulties.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the delivery of specialist speech and language therapy services at Lorna Muir Speech Therapy including assessment, diagnosis and therapy for paediatric caseload.

  • To provide specialist intervention demonstrating clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence based practice and outcome measures while being able to adapt practices to meet individual needs.

  • To provide specialist therapy services utilising a variety of service delivery models including individual, and group sessions. 

  • To use specialist knowledge of standardised assessment and other assessment tools in combination with advanced reasoning skills to record baseline measures and/or differential diagnoses. 

  • To develop and implement speech and language programmes for individuals and groups using expertise knowledge to create innovative and effective ways of working, aiming to maximise individual students’ potential. 

  • To regularly monitor and review the students’ ongoing communication needs. 

  • To devise and write intervention programmes.

  • You will be paid per client on a self employed basis. 

  • Salary is dependent on experience but compare favourably with NHS equivalent band rates
